The Office for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion monitors and supports Mason’s commitments to equity and belonging, as well as affirms a culture of integrity that values shared responsibility as a critical element of an inclusive and diverse academic community. 

As members of Mason Nation, we are all tasked with behaving diligently and professionally in adhering to the highest standards of honesty, integrity, and fairness by being respectful of the rights of others as well as protecting the privacy of confidential information and complying with laws, rules, and regulations. 

To encourage such principles of diversity and inclusion, we prohibit discrimination and harassment and provide equal opportunity for all employees and applicants for employment, regardless of race, religion, color, national origin, physical or mental disability, medical condition, sex, age, marital status, sexual orientation, veteran status, gender identity, gender expression, or any other trait or status protected by applicable law. Further, it is the university’s policy that there shall be no retaliation against those who raise issues of discrimination or potential discrimination, or who participate in an investigation of such issues.
