Disability Accommodations

George Mason University provides reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities in order to ensure equal access and opportunity to visit, live, and work at Mason.

Workplace Accommodations

The ADA Coordinator maintains a process and procedure for requesting workplace accommodations. Requests for workplace accommodations can be submitted through the ADA Accommodations Form. Employees or supervisors seeking information about workplace accommodations should contact the ADA Coordinator.

Student Accommodations

The University maintains a separate, student-focused Disability Services (DS) office to provide students with equal access to university programs and activities.  DS provides students with documented disabilities—including those with cognitive (e.g., learning, psychological, and closed head injury), sensory, mobility, and other physical impairments—the assistance they need for a successful educational experience by collaborating with faculty to provide reasonable accommodations, auxiliary aids, and support services that are individualized and based on medical documentation, functional limitations, and a collaborative assessment of needs.
